Milos’s landscape is probably best described as moon-like with wonderful rock formations across the island.  The north coast is famous for its coastline where the the sea has eroded long narrow channels between sculpted white rocks, producing the beaches of Sarakiniko, Kapros and the sea caves of Papafragas.  A visit to this beautiful island should incorporate the cliffs of Kleftiko and the lunar-like scenery at Sarakiniko.

Milos is blessed with beautiful Greek towns and villages including Pláka (the island’s capital), Apollonia, Klima, Adamas , Hivadolímni and Emporiós.  Pláka is characterised by its white-washed houses and narrow labyrinth lanes. Pláka is well worth a visit for its Cycladic architecture and the beautiful Venetian castle.  Pláka is home to visitor attractions including the archaeology museum, folk museum, catacombs and Kastra (Castle)

Adamas and Pollinia are the most popular tourist destinations with a good selection of accommodation and restuarants. Adamas is were the ferries from Piraeus and the Cyclades islands dock.   Apollonia is renowned for its excellent restaurants.
